Widespread connectivity disruptions have plagued Android Auto users in recent days, affecting the platform's core functionality across multiple device manufacturers.

User reports emerged last week across Reddit, Google's official support forum, and other community channels, documenting persistent connection failures and intermittent disconnections. The issues manifest across both wired USB and wireless protocols, with recovery times ranging from seconds to several minutes in some cases.

The disruption significantly impacts essential in-vehicle functions including telephony, media playback, and turn-by-turn navigation—creating substantial usability concerns for drivers who depend on the platform daily.

While Pixel device owners represent the majority of reported cases, Samsung users have encountered comparable connectivity problems. The issue spans multiple Pixel generations, though Samsung reports concentrate primarily on the Galaxy S26 series.

Some users speculate a correlation with the March Pixel Drop released several weeks ago, though this theory fails to account for the cross-manufacturer nature of the problem affecting Samsung devices.

Google has not issued an official resolution, but affected users have identified several potential workarounds for those requiring immediate Android Auto functionality.

Multiple users report success after performing a full power cycle of their vehicle's infotainment system—typically accomplished by pressing and holding the power button until the system completely restarts. One Galaxy user restored functionality by initiating the Android Auto connection directly through the vehicle's head unit interface, rather than launching the application from their smartphone.

Google has not publicly acknowledged the connectivity issues. We've contacted the company for comment and will update this story with any response.
